Topic/Style Interest

I’m a big believer that there is a book out there for everyone. However, not everyone is interested in the same book types. If I don’t think I will have a genuine interest in the subject/form I will not accept the request as the best reviews come from those who are passionate about the subject.

Personal Views

If I have had bad experiences from the book review requestor in the past, I may decline the request. I may also on occasion decline requests from problematic brands or organisations.

Time Frame

Whilst I would love to spend my entire day reading, sometimes there are simply not enough hours in the day! If I know I will not have the time to read the book, I will decline the request to avoid wasting everyone’s time.

Whilst you may have guessed I post reviews on this blog, I also post reviews and book-related content on Instagram @travelling_pageturner to my following as well as adding reviews to Goodreads and on Amazon if requested by the publisher.

What to Include in Your Request

Please include the title of the book you would like me to review (unless it is a secret readalong), a short blurb, the name of the publisher and the name of the author. I will not purchase a book in order to review.

Don’t See Your Genre?

This list is of course not exhaustive. If you don’t see your genre here, get in touch to see if it is something I would be interested in. I love experiencing new cultures and ideas through books and I’m always looking for new reads outside of my comfort zone. I do not however review erotic fiction or religious fiction. Excessive animal cruelty is also something that will cause me to DNF a book

Reviews

Whilst I always hope that review books will become my next favourite read, sometimes a book is just not for me. I tend to choose books for review that I should stand a chance of liking but if not, I will try to give a balanced review and explain my views. My reviews are out of five stars with four and above stars making it into my recommended reads.

Where Am I?

I am based in Staffordshire in the UK and prefer physical copies of books for review. However, if the book blurb really interests me I also accept E-books and audiobooks for review.
