You Are Fatally Invited by Ande Pliego

Fatally Invited was a perfectly twisty locked room mystery that played on the tropes of a traditional murder mystery to brilliant effect. I was lucky enough to take part in a Readalong for this beauty with Bantam Books and it did not disappoint!

Castle of the Cursed by Romina Garber

If you are a fan of gothic fiction, this YA version is perfect! I jumped into this read as part of a Tandem Collective Readalong and loved the slight fantasy elements with a brilliant cast of characters.

The First Girl by Claire McGowan

Our first Thrills and Chills Book Club pick for the year was this brilliant read, The First Girl. Centring around the girlfriend of a Serial killer locked up for life, it explores the element of doubt in a fast-paced read featuring a copycat case and race against the clock.

The Book of X by Sarah Rose Etter

Not for the squeamish readers, The Book of X features meat farms and dark passages and explores society’s expectations of women and appearance in an unusual way. If you enjoyed Sarah Rose Etter’s other book Ripe, this holds similar weight.

The Cleaner by Mary Watson

The Cleaner was full of mystery up until the very last page with plenty of mistaken identities, secrets and more.

The Wedding Party by Rebecca Heath

I absolutely loved this beachy thriller newly released this year! It explores loss, revenge and power plays in a brilliant way, all in a sun-soaked setting.

Moral Ambition by Rutger Bregman

One for the non-fiction lovers, Moral Ambition questions what it means to use your ambition for good in a world of people letting history pass them by.

100 Weekends in Europe – A Lonely Planet Guide

If you are like me and always planning your next trip, 100 Weekends in Europe is the perfect pick. It is packed full of Weekender ideas and absolutely stunning pictures making it the perfect coffee table and travel planning read.

Audiobook Pick: Conclave by Robert Harris

When I saw you NEED to read/listen to Conclave I really do mean it! I was recommended this book by my nana and as soon as I started listening I was gripped! It explores the inner workings of the Conclave, the process of choosing the next Pope in a fantastically dramatic way. It was absolutely brilliant and I can’t recommend it enough!
